Hindu Art

I´m student of Art history, I look so much pieces of art, I like so much kind of art. But I think that if really transport myself if the Hindu Art. Since I was a child I look Indian pictures and images books in my grandmother´s house. I create a lot of histories with their pieces of art. The style of art if I refer bored in the hills of the Panjab plains for the XVII and XVIII century. The “Pahari” artist illustrated the ancient histories of the Hinduism. The characteristic of the divine figures drawn was made with a large repertoire of conventions.
I love all the Hindu culture without being a scholar of the matter, because I´m fight with Latin-Americans hippie culture that appropriated of this tradition and came back a Pop icon. But, is thanks to those hippies followers of the Osho meditations, as my Grandma and my uncle, that I learned a lot of parable and Hindu histories. But in the majorities of the case, I invented the histories because the books were in English or French and I only look the pictures. They also had a little sculpture of elephants and other divines that my cousins and I used like a toys.
Now I like of the Hindu Art the vegetables design and there crammed that the Art Noveau to borrowed of the Hindu architecture and textile design. In the painting I like the flatness, the colors, the sensuality and also the taste for the animals and vegetable forms.

My Santiago

I like Santiago´s Mountains, are a lovely view. I like Santiago because its outskirts are beautiful, we have the beach of Center Coast at two hours, the snow of Farellones at one hour and the mountains of Maipo River for doing camping, trekking, rafting and others activities at one hour to.
I like Santiago because in cultural meters we have everything here, compares with others cities of the country, off course, because don´t have comparison with other cities in the world. Here are the most important museums and cultural institutions of the country, the national archives, the national libraries, etc.
I don´t like Santiago´s stress, I don’t like the traffic, neater the smog. I´m disagree with the big cities with really modern neighborhoods and a lot of marginal neighborhoods to pretend to be hidden and covered. I´m disagree with this kind of organization of the urban environment. For changes this situation I´ll make changes in the current tax system, increasing the tax of the big industry. And I´ll changes the street plane for make one more egalitarian, human and kind city.
I recommend to the visitor knows the hills San Cristobal and Santa Lucia, the building of the National Library, the government palace: “La Moneda”, the churches of San Francisco and Merced, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Modern Art Museum, the Forestal Park and the Coffee’s neighborhood, includes the detention center located in Street London and “Biográfo” Coffee . Then the Brazil Neighborhood: Concha y Toro Street, Brazil and Yungay squares, and the Quinta Normal Park with their museums. Before follow the tour for Recoleta Neighborhood: with the church and museum Recoleta Dominica and then for the National Cemetery.
Finally I recommend go out of Santiago for visit Valparaíso and the beaches of the Center Coast

NOT IN MAR BRAVA

Like our teacher, I don´t like the beach for swim, because the water in Chile is very cold. And neater like take sun because to makes me feel headache.

But I really love walk for the beach. And for that I recommend the beaches of Chiloé Island, because these have a very specials view.

I think Mar Brava is one of the more interesting beaches in Chiloé Island. This place has green voyage and hills and rocky beach with grey sable.

In Mar Brava are an archaeological sites when we are found shells, pieces of potteries, animal´s bones remains, one “animita” with flowers rests and human bones of 6000  years old. Turn this site in the more ancient of the Island.

This site is protected for the Commission of National Monuments but still that some people want to build there a park of wind power. The community is angry because this initiative not only affects the archeological site but generate ecological changes, because affect the course of migration of the birds.

For all that I recommend visit this place if you can. I went there twice, with my family and friends, but I like return there to study the site for make a research.

Go to the Park

I like go to walk for the park that is my favorite outdoor activity. Perhaps because I lived in the countryside until age nine.  I love walk between the trees, just walk and walk and walk. Sit-down and appreciate the view. For that in my teens I choose to do outdoors activity like climb, trekking and camping: in this time I went to Mahuida Park in “La Reina Alta”, “Sun Park” in Barnechea, “Cajón of Maipo”, “Las Chilcas” (in north route near of Santiago) and “Los Puquios” near of Chillán.
Then I went to the park with friends and my boyfriend to make social life, my favorite’s parks in this time was Forestal and Intercomunal. Before I left all the parks for Gomez Millas, was my second home, I love it.
In my time in Buenos Aires reinforce my parks love and walk all the Sundays for Palermo Woods and for Francia square. I love the museums in the park like Quinta Normal in Chile, is perfect for me.
Now I am going, very frequently, to the park near of my flat called Montegrande, with my son Tomás. Is very big and beautiful, with children plays areas and many different places to sit.

song´s collage

The last Wednesday we -my friends and I- spoke about this topic. For that I have a lot of song in mind in this moment. Really I don´t have one song in particular.
Well, twenty years ago is the most “past” can I remember. In this time I learned to dance with Juan Luis Guerra. I cried of pain for first time with “El Unicornio Azul” of Silvio Rodriguez. And always for lunch, I was “Sopa de Cararol”.
My first cassette was of Mecano.
My first dance with friends was with “El baile del perrito” (A very modern dance!). And my cousin and I to made sketches of Marta Sanchez and Locomia.
Then, like others girls of my age, I love Cristina y los Subterraneo songs. That was special for me as well it is remembered when my father sang sad boleros for my sister and I. For me in particular sang a Mexican “corrido” called “La Valentina”, a song of the Mexican Revolution.
That kind of songs, the political songs, always brought our childhood, because we are sons and nephews of exiled and tortured people. We learned to play guitar with “Todos juntos” of the Jaivas, and songs like “Manuel Rodriguez” and all the collection of Inti Illimmani. Was the time of “Chileee, la alegría ya vieneeee” ¿you remember that guys? Never come in any way…

Jemmy Button

I like to have “One on one” with Jemmy Button, a yámana indigenous of fifteen years old who together with Fueguia Basket y York Minster was taking captivity in the year 1830 for a Captain Parker King and there, went took to England, where they met King William IV and Queen Adelaide.
It is not clear the reason of the abduction. Apparently was taking as hostage to ask for exchange stoles provisions by indigenous, but their family never came to find there. But the official reason was the savage´s education. They will be an experiment of civilization.
As took Darwin and Fitz Roy in them travel diary, Jemmy learnt to be an Englishman, but when he is return to his land: Wulaia Bay, he also returns to his costumes. It is said that Jemmy had a very particular mood and a superhuman view.
I would like to talk with Jemmy because is a really interesting case of cultures shock and hi life history tell us many things about the ideological context: the young nation of Chili and the mixed identity.
I would ask him: do you like England, tell me about something that take your attention in the trip and tell me about your family.

The rescue of submachine gun

Always I remember a trip to my grandmother´s house in Chiloé, was when I have six years old, I was with my cousins: Constanza, Nicolas and Colombia of ten, eight and seven years old, and my sister of eight years old. We played in the wetland (“humedal”) in front of our grandmother´s house. Chiloé is famous for its long wetlands, this in especial measure as a hectare and have the particularity of when the tide comes in, its cover completely of water and looks as a lake. We played to throw toys or other things in to the river (in the middle of the wetland) from the bridge and rescue when the tide goes out. In this memorable occasion we throw a submachine gun of water. And our plan to rescue was down to the wetland from a gully of three meters and from there make a single line at the river when the submachine passes. The idea was that my cousin Colomba takes the gun toy for the river and pass it to Nicolas, and then at the others at the gully. But, Colomba could not reach, and then Nicolas takes Colomba for the boot and she takes the submachine and fell in to the river. Then, Nico looked at us and shouted: at least save the boot!!!
